Cycling in Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City) can be challenging due to the heavy traffic and chaotic road conditions. The city's roads are crowded with motorbikes, cars, and buses, and there is often little separation between them, making it difficult for cyclists to navigate safely. Additionally, the air quality in Saigon is poor, and cyclists may be exposed to high levels of pollution, especially during rush hour. | ![]() |
| That being said, some people do cycle in Saigon, and there are certain areas where cycling can be quite pleasant. For example, the city's parks and waterfront areas, such as the Saigon River and Thanh Da Island, offer scenic routes that are relatively free of traffic. |

If you do decide to cycle in Saigon, it's important to take precautions to stay safe, such as wearing a helmet, following traffic laws, and using lights and reflective gear when cycling at night. It's also a good idea to avoid cycling during rush hour and to stick to quieter, less congested streets when possible. In the meantime, Vietnam By Bike does not serve the Saigon Bike Tours because the risk is very high, so if possible you can enjoy the countryside cycling with us as one of our sample activities within 1-5 days:
