Pack Them With You ?
This is a cycling tour for all kind of travellers, from amateur to professional cyclist. Vietnam By Bike team will tailor your ability exactly. And it will be served all year round, but you should read any request what you can bring with you:
- Necessary: Insect repellent, normal shoes, passport, tiny backpack.
- Unnecessary: Sunglasses, wide brim hat, camera, flip shoes, cyclist clothes, gloves, pro-pedal.
ITINERARY
1st day: Cycling from Saigon to Cu Chi Tunnels and to Mekong Delta.
Our team meet you at the lobby’s hotel and transfer to Ben Nay, a quiet point on Saigon Riverside where fitting your bike and stunning first 5km to cross Saigon River to Binh Duong province. Riding into the peaceful villages and pass some memorial sites, through people’s rubber plantations with any short breaks for making picture at dusk, pepper, rice farms – those good chances of chatting with their charm cultures.
On arrival the Tunnels, we will proceed to an underground hut to watch a documentary video and presentation about Cu Chi Tunnels system before having a real hand-on experience of what it took to live underground. Afterward, we go head to My Tho in Mekong Delta. Overnight at local homestay.
2nd day: Cycling from My Tho to Ben Tre and Tan An to Saigon.
Good morning locals, they show you their daily life and visit a remote village. Following breakfast is a warm-up biking along the Mekong River to Suspension Bridge Rach Mieu to transfer to BenTre town for cycling past the beautiful coconut homeland where our guide will tell you about making process of coconut products (maybe coconut candy, chopstick, oil..) And then, we’ll ride the horse-cart to the riverside restaurant for lunch break and siesta on hammock or explore some farms of snake, crocodile, porcupine,..).
Enjoy a good afternoon by boat trip crosses this mighty Mekong River to My Tho and cycle through this small town to visit the most beautiful pagoda Vinh Trang in Mekong Delta. And pedalling more to traditional village that make “hu tieu” (called vermicelli) since 1690.
Note: The beautiful landscapes of Scenic Mekong always excite you cycle more to TanAn before bring you back to Saigon (if time permits).
