Instruction

- The Cu Chi Tunnels are an elaborate network of underground passages located in the Cu Chi district of Ho Chi Minh City (formerly known as Saigon), Vietnam. They were originally built during the 1940s by the Vietnamese resistance fighters, known as the Viet Cong, during the Vietnam War. The tunnels served as a means to carry out military operations, house soldiers, and transport supplies.

The Cu Chi Tunnels cover an expansive area of approximately 250 kilometers, with three main tunnel systems: Ben Duoc, Ben Dinh, and Hoang Cam. These tunnels were essential to the Viet Cong's strategy of guerrilla warfare, allowing them to launch surprise attacks on the enemy and then quickly disappear underground.

The tunnels are known for their complex and intricate design, featuring multiple levels with interconnected tunnels, storage areas, weapon factories, hospitals, and living quarters. Despite their cramped and challenging conditions, the Viet Cong soldiers managed to live and operate within the tunnels for extended periods.

Today, the Cu Chi Tunnels have become a popular tourist destination, offering visitors a glimpse into the harsh realities of the Vietnam War and the resilience of the Vietnamese people. Tourists can explore a section of the tunnels, crawl through the narrow passages, and learn about the ingenious methods used by the Viet Cong. Exhibits and displays also provide insights into the daily life of the soldiers and the harsh conditions they endured.

- Travel as the Cycling Cu Chi Tunnels is an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the Vietnam War, appreciate the history and bravery of the Vietnamese people, and witness firsthand the ingenuity and resourcefulness that allowed the Viet Cong to withstand a technologically superior enemy.
